What originally drew you to scratch-off tickets, and at what point did you feel this hobby could become something more — a real social media project?
It started with the simple design of the tickets. I worked at a gas station in college and sold scratch-offs all day long. It was hard not to be enthralled by these glimmering pieces of paper that advertised six to seven-figure prizes. The lottery marketing system did its job!
I didn’t have a lot of money at the time so I bought them very infrequently. When I got a job after college and had disposable income, I started buying them more frequently — though not every day like I do now.
Ultimately scratch-offs pulled me in because they let you hold a dream in your hand — even if just for a moment. Before you scratch, the world is still unwritten.
Around March of this year, I began to feel creatively starved. I work in Marketing but it was repetitive, so I looked for a creative outlet. Making videos about my lottery habit felt interesting.
I thought nobody would watch, but then a few reels did well. When I reached 1,000 Instagram followers, I promised I’d buy a full $1000 book of tickets. I did… and the reel went viral with over 2 million views. That changed everything!
Many scratch-card videos rely on suspense and surprise: how do you craft your videos to maximize that tension while keeping them genuine?
I’m not sure I do this very well! I always try to get to the point rather than artificially maximize tension. My videos are fast and direct — you don’t wait long to see if I win or lose.
Looking back on your scratch-off journey, was there a moment (win or loss) that fundamentally changed how you view lottery tickets and your channel?
No single moment changed everything, but the journey showed me how rare big wins actually are. Before the channel, buying once in a while made jackpots feel close. But after 7+ months buying tickets daily, I haven’t hit a prize above $500.
Seeing losses every day changes your perspective on the odds.
Do you ever use data or odds to guide which tickets you scratch, or is it more about spontaneity and fun?
I always pick tickets that still have jackpot prizes remaining. Sometimes I pick older games with few jackpot claims because the odds shift slightly in my favor. But most of the time I buy what feels right.
As engagement grows, how do you stay authentic and avoid turning your content into “just chasing big wins”?
I try to make every video a different experience — new intros, new editing styles, new ways to destroy the losing tickets. The only constant is that I scratch lottery tickets.
What is the hardest part about making scratch-card content regularly?
Consistency. Posting daily requires buying tickets, recording, editing, and interacting with viewers every single day — holidays, work days, sick days. Content creation is a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding.
Some audiences might see scratch-card content as promoting gambling — how do you approach responsible use?
I’m transparent about wins and losses. I post my running total in the comments — and it’s almost always negative. I’ve lost over $5,000 so far, and I’m open about it. My videos entertain, but they don’t glamorize the lottery as a money-making strategy.
Do you involve your community in choosing tickets or content ideas?
Absolutely! I take suggestions on how to destroy losing tickets and sometimes which tickets to buy next. A viewer once suggested putting a losing ticket in a bottle and sending it into a lake — so I filmed that adventure!
If you could invent your dream scratch-off game, what would it look like?
I’d like higher jackpot prizes — Michigan caps at $6 million. I’d also enjoy poker-style tickets where you beat the dealer’s hand.
Where do you see your channel in one year?
Hopefully still growing — unless I win the jackpot and disappear! Just kidding. I want to expand and possibly introduce giveaways like tipping servers or delivery drivers whatever I win. I’m not sure what the future holds, but I’ll keep scratching!

All’epoca avevo pochi soldi, quindi li compravo raramente.
Spero in continua crescita. Qualunque cosa accada, continuerò a grattare!
